Lead Barista & Roastery Assistant

Our team is growing! We are looking for a coffee professional that has a desire to work with a growing roastery and wants to help work with our co-founders to continually elevate our coffee program and work with a passionate team. This job will offer an industry leading & competitive pay with an optional health benefits package and paid time off.

Job Overview:

Lead Barista position is to oversee our Studio (roastery micro-cafe) and hospitality operations, ensure excellent customer service, and oversee our team of baristas. You must be able to create a culture of hospitality and a welcome, and passionate atmosphere while maintaining operational efficiency, product quality, and a high standard of customer care. You would be expected to inspire and train baristas to ensure quality is consistent in every cup and customers always leave with a hospitable experience from the coffee, to interaction, to cleanliness of the cafe. You would have the ability to craft a menu of single origin coffees from September's rotating offerings, and be expected to learn personally and then educate customers on the story and context off each coffee when possible.

Roastery Assistant is to assist in the roasting team where needed when not operating as a barista. You would primarily operate as an assistant to our Operations Manager. This is including but not limited to assisting the production team, order fulfilment logistics, and other roastery operations.

Requirements

  • Great knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso drinks, pour overs, and café operations
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A desire to work with a great team
  • Ability to manage budgets and track inventory
  • Proficient in sensory skillsets
  • Ability to consistently lift 30 Lbs
